Building Bridges: The Grand Final

When Austria won the 59th Eurovision Song Contest with the “Queen of Europe” Conchita Wurst and the song “Rise like a Phoenix”, nobody expected what will happen next. For a whole year Austria brought new air in the Eurovision Song Contest.

The revamped logo was the first change for the celebration of the 60 years from the first contest in 1956, the historical logo “Building Bridges” brought millions of people under the same purpose; to build bridges among countries by making their own video in a platform that was created for that reason, for the first time in the history the hosts of the contest was three ladies, but the most amazing of all was the presence of the Orchestra!

From 1956 to 1998 the music of all participant songs was played by an orchestra, from 1999 till our days the comeback of the orchestra remained a dream, a dream that came true, if only for a while, in the three live shows of Vienna 2015. We saw again the orchestra on the stage of Eurovision playing in the opening of the shows, an amazing experience, an incredible feeling, a memorable moment that remind us the splendor of the classic orchestra in the Eurovision Song Contest.

For the first time in the stage of Eurovision an handicap artist took part, the beautiful Monika Kuszyńska from Poland, the three live shows were broadcasted in the International Sign Language through the official YouTube Channel of Eurovision, Australia was invited to join the celebration of the 60 years of the contest and the shows was broadcasted in China.

Austrians are people with honour, they say it and they made it, the “Building Bridges” became reality and they are very proud that they succeed to make the difference in the Eurovision Song Contest. The 60th anniversary of this contest will remain a beacon of innovations.

In the Grand Finale of the opening song another surprise waited to be revealed, the song “Building Bridges” singed by Conchita Wurst, Left Boy, Arabella Kiesbauer, Mirjam Weichselbraun, Alice Tumler, Die Wiener Sängerknaben, The Suparar Kids &  The ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra. The song is written by Dorothee Freiberger & David Bronner, and released few days after the Final.

The celebration of the evening was passed in Sweden who won the 60th competition with Måns Zelmerlöw and the song “Heroes.” Sweden counts her sixth trophy and become automatically the second country in a row after Ireland with seven victories. We congratulate Sweden for her victory and we look forward for the celebration of the 61st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.
